Taxi Driver Season 3 Ep 9: Kim Do Gi’s Decision Changes the Fate of the Team!
Grab your tissues and brace yourselves, Taxi Driver fans. Episode 9 isn’t just another mission; it’s an emotional wrecking ball headed straight for our hearts. Are you prepared for Kim Do Gi to face his toughest choice yet?
The Personal Case That Is Hitting Way Too Close to Home
Let’s be real, the stakes in Taxi Driver have always been high. But episode 9 is digging up a ghost from the past that changes everything. We are deep into the “Park Minho no-body murder case,” a fifteen-year-old tragedy that started it all. This isn’t just business for CEO Jang Sung Chul; it is painfully personal.
His old friend, Park Dong Su, lost his son in a brutal killing but never got closure. The killer walked free after five months because they never found the body. Now? Dong Su is battling Alzheimer’s and can’t even remember Sung Chul’s name. Just hearing that breaks my heart.
The Rainbow Taxi crew isn’t letting this slide, obviously. Episodes 5 through 8 showed us some incredible undercover work. Remember Kim Do Gi channelling his inner high-roller? He infiltrated the villain’s gambling ring by posing as a gambler and literally won the gym in a card game.
It was a classic “mad genius” Do Gi move! But the investigation revealed a nasty truth. The gym owner, Lim Dong Hyeon, and his crony, Seong Uk, are monsters. They’ve been fixing basketball games and hiding evidence in a secret room. And the worst part? Seong Uk is the driver who hit Dong Su years ago, causing his memory loss. Seriously, could these guys be any more evil?

Kim Do Gi’s Impossible Decision: Justice or Family?
Here is where things get sweaty. Rumours suggest Do Gi faces a decision in episode 9 that could shatter the team’s dynamic forever. We know Do Gi gets the job done. He is brutal, efficient, and terrifyingly terrific. But he has never crossed the line into cold-blooded murder. Could this case push him over the edge? The injustice here destroyed an innocent father’s entire life.
Seeing Dong Su in that nursing home might snap something inside Do Gi. One AsianWiki user summed it up perfectly: “I cried when Driver Oh was sitting in the park eating his cold lunch in despair. Just something about it felt sadder than any other scene.”
There is another massive risk on the table, too. Do Gi might have to expose Rainbow Taxi to the world. We know Interpol agent Michael Chang and Detective Suzuki are sniffing around. They are sceptical and savvy. If Do Gi chooses transparency to save his team from prosecution, their shadow operation is over. It’s a gamble.
Or worse, does a team member take a bullet during this revenge mission? A Medium article speculated about Do Gi facing “real vulnerability through a life-threatening injury.” If Goeun gets hurt again, I think the fandom might actually riot.

The Cast Delivering Career-Best Performances
Can we take a moment to appreciate Lee Je Hoon? The man is a chameleon. He returns as Kim Do Gi with even more layers than before. Whether he is playing an awkward educator, an MMA fighter, or a flashy gambler, he nails it. His ability to switch from hilarious to terrifying is why Season 2 hit that massive 20.9 per cent viewership.
A fan on AsianWiki wrote, “Love your series so much Lee Je-Hoon!” and honestly, same. We are also getting the return of the “Bright-eyed Mad Hwang In-sung” character from Season 1. Who isn’t excited for that chaotic energy?
Then you have the heart of the show, Kim Eui Sung as Jang Sung Chul.
Watching him fight for his friend’s dignity while battling the clock of Alzheimer’s adds so much weight. And of course, Pyo Ye Jin is back as our favourite hacker. Her tech skills are the only reason the team functions. Throw in the comedic duo of Choi Kyung Ku and Park Jin Aeon, and you have the perfect squad. They bring the laughs, but they can be deadly when it counts.
Why Episode 9 Is the Turning Point of Season 3
This episode is the bridge between the past and the finale. We started the season dealing with international crimes in Japan, which was cool. But now? We are back to the roots of why Rainbow Taxi exists. It’s the final chapter of the origin story.
The shift from global action to intimate, personal revenge is precisely what the show needed. It reminds us that these characters aren’t just vigilantes; they are a makeshift family.

The buzz online is overwhelmingly positive. A review from Dryed Mangoez called it “the perfect way to ease us back into the world of the Mobeomtaxi crew.” Fans are loving that Season 3 is taking risks and fixing the “safe” feeling some people got from Season 2.
The ratings are climbing, and the international setting has brought a fresh vibe. Plus, the themes of justice versus revenge are hitting harder than ever. When Sung Chul hurts, the whole team hurts. That loyalty is what makes us care.
