Playboi Carti Charged with Assault After Utah Limo Incident

Playboi Carti was charged with misdemeanor assault following an incident in Utah on October 2, 2025, while touring on his Antagonist Tour. Carl Reynolds, Carl Carti’s limousine driver, alleged that Playboi Carti kicked him during an encounter.

What Happened During the Playboi Carti Limo Incident?

Playboi Carti was engaged in an altercation with his partner when their driver reported it as happening in the backseat of a limousine. Carl Reynolds intervened to stop their fight by pulling over to put an end to it all.

Reynolds reported Playboi Carti hit his partner in the back of her chest and observed her with her head down over her chest, thus dissociating themselves from each other. Reynolds attempted to break them apart.

Playboi Carti allegedly struck Reynolds on the cheek. Police have recorded visible injuries to Reynolds’ jaw. Reportedly, Carti claimed that Reynolds exaggerated because of their fame.

Charges and Legal Details against Playboi Carti

Playboi Carti admitted to hitting his driver; however, both his security guard and girlfriend stated they shot the driver instead, instead of facing charges related to assaulting his partner, instead with assaulting his driver directly.

Wasatch Police confirmed this case. Deputies took photos of his hands to serve as proof. Due to Playboi Carti not allowing himself to be photographed directly with his face, only pictures showing his hands could serve as evidence against him.

Playboi Carti was charged with a Class B misdemeanor for assault. If convicted, he could be subject to prison time and fines. A driver in a limousine witnessed this assault.

Playboi Carti was born Jordan Terrell Carter. He won Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year Award in 2024 and now boasts 46 million monthly Spotify listeners.

Playboi Carti earned two Grammy nominations with hit songs “Rather Lie” and “Popular”, both being featured on his Antagonist 2.0 Tour, which runs through December 1.

Playboi Carti performed in Salt Lake City the evening following the incident and did not comment publicly about allegations made against him.
